Barrett is a Partner with the firm and Chair of the Marine Construction Law Practice Group. He plays an integral role in the Litigation, Construction, and Admiralty & Maritime Law teams, and leads the firm’s representation of clients in complex marine construction matters.

Barrett’s practice focuses on construction, maritime, and business disputes. He is a seasoned civil litigator with extensive experience handling state and federal jury trials, arbitrations, mediations, and appeals. He regularly represents marine contractors, vessel operators, suppliers, and developers in disputes involving waterfront infrastructure, dredging operations, and heavy marine equipment.

Before joining the firm, Barrett served as associate general counsel for a contractor, where he advised on contract risk, insurance coverage, and government compliance. He brings that insight to bear in counseling construction and maritime clients through operational challenges, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.

Barrett also has a deep understanding of the intersection between government contracting and marine construction, making him a trusted advisor for clients navigating public and private sector projects.
